Dialogue in the dark

Dialogue in the dark

“Dialogue in the Dark” is a life-changing international experience that contains a thought-provoking exhibition tour and other activities in pitch darkness. It was founded by Andreas Heinecke in 1988, with its headquarters located in Hamburg, Germany. In the initial decade, it provided traveling exhibition tours. Later, franchises of Dialogue in the Dark were given to different countries. Nearly 150 cities and 30 countries have had the franchise of Dialogue in the Dark, and currently, 21 countries and 100+ cities have Dialogue in the Dark in different formats. Countries like Singapore, Australia, Italy, Japan, China, Greece, Germany, France, and India have embraced this concept. The entire activity happens in pitch darkness, where visitors are guided by a blind guide. It may sound impossible, but it is possible for the blind to be aware of their environment and surroundings. It enhances their capability to guide people with the help of their voice. The main ideology behind this concept is to provoke other senses apart from eyes.
Nowadays, humans concentrate more on their seeing ability, and the senses of hearing, touching, smelling, and tasting are not used properly. For example, in movies, more preference is given to visuals rather than proper dialogues and sound effects. We might have a big question about how visually challenged people go through their daily routines and how they lead their lives. Dialogue in the Dark is a perfect practical example for people with vision to understand the visually challenged life and to appreciate the value of their other four senses.
