What are some games that can be played with kids with autism?
Children with autism learn faster through engaging activities and games rather than the conventional method of reading and writing. The activities and games must stimulate the motor and sensory organs of the child. Here are a few ideas:
· The smelling challenge – ask the child to smell different objects and identify the name. For each correct answer, the child can be rewarded with their favourite chocolate.
· Clay sculpting – Clay sculpting is one of the essential activities to boost creativity, motor skills and stability.
· Follow the leader – the game introduces a group of children with one leader where all the other children have to mimic what the leader is saying or doing. This activity will improve the motor and social skills of children with autism.
