Intellectual disability and dignity

How to ensure dignity to a person with an intellectual disability?

Dignity is a birthright, and everybody must be ensured with the utmost respect from society. It all starts from the home; parents and guardians should respect their kid or anybody with an intellectual disability and be a model for others. When somebody is misbehaving or ill-treating a person with such a disability, it is essential to explain the pain that the person goes through and how it affects them. Awareness programs, inclusive workshops and media representation would also create sensitivity towards the disability among the public.
